From earthy to ethereal, Ancora celebrates the music of the British Isles in our first presentation under new Artistic Director Aimee Mell. Enjoy the music of Holst, Vaughan Williams, Stanford, Daley, Szymko, Whitacre, and more! The program presents traditional renditions of “waulking” songs, ballads, reels, and favorites such as “Scarborough Fair,” as well as more contemporary settings of texts by St. Patrick, W.B. Yeats, and James Joyce.
Ursula Sahagian will join Ancora on English horn for She Weeps Over Rahoon, by Eric Whitacre.
